Club Stunt Teams

Phoenix Allstars Club STUNT Teams

Teams for All Ages & Skill Levels

Club STUNT refers to teams or programs that participate in STUNT, a competitive sport derived from traditional cheerleading. STUNT focuses specifically on the athletic and technical aspects of cheer—removing the crowd-leading elements—and highlights skills in partner stunts, pyramids, basket tosses, jumps, and tumbling.

Sport Structure: Two teams compete head-to-head performing the same routines, divided into four quarters: partner stunts, pyramids/tosses, jumps/tumbling, and a team routine.
Scoring: Teams are judged on execution, difficulty, and synchronization. The team with the highest cumulative score wins.
Organization: Governed by USA Cheer and recognized by the NCAA as an emerging sport for women.

Benefits of STUNT

1. Clear, Objective Scoring
Why it’s great: Unlike traditional cheerleading where subjective judging can be a factor, STUNT uses head-to-head routines with clearly defined scoring criteria, making outcomes more transparent and fair.
2. Focus on Athletic Skill
Skills highlighted: Partner stunts, pyramids, basket tosses, jumps, tumbling.
Athlete development: Allows athletes to specialize and improve their technical skills without the crowd-leading or dance elements found in sideline cheer.
3. College Opportunities
Emerging NCAA Sport: Many colleges are adding STUNT teams as part of Title IX compliance, creating more scholarship and competitive opportunities for female athletes.
Club/Varsity pathways: Athletes can compete at club levels and transition to collegiate programs.
4. Teamwork & Leadership
Importance: Synchronization and precision are key in STUNT routines, teaching athletes strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
